Product Details

Product Name: aFe Pro 10R Momentum HD Intake System - 2018-2020 Ford 3.0L Powerstroke
Manufacturer: AFE
Manufacturer Part #: 50-70023T
Thoroughbred Diesel Part #: AFE50-70023T
Fitment Notes: 2018-2020 Ford 3.0L Powerstroke

Get rid of the ugly restrictive factory intake under the hood of your Ford 3.0L Powerstroke and replace it with the high flow AFE 50-70023T Pro 10R Momentum HD Intake System. AFE pulls out all the stops when designing their Momentum HD intake systems. Taking full advantage of the small amount of real estate available, AFE uses the largest 10-Layer filter they can, providing more airflow and excellent filtration performance. The Momentum HD intake requires no modifications to your truck, simply unbolt your factory intake and replace it with this!

Huge 3-Layer Performance Air Filter:

This Momentum HD intake system was designed around the largest filter possible to allow maximum performance and filtration. This filter has a (7" x 4-3/4”) oval flange and is 9" tall and features our non-oiled Pro DRY S media. The Pro DRY S performance air filter features 3-layers of progressively finer porosity synthetic media that does not require oil providing maximum convenience. The unique air filter to housing interface (US PAT 9440175) allows for maximum filter size, which increases the available air volume while simplifying the installation process. The air filter is wrapped in reinforced metal providing maximum strength to prevent filter collapse.

One-Piece Housing with Sight Window:

A custom computer designed housing eliminates the use of multiple components. It’s roto-molded and made from heat soak resistant cross-linked polyethylene, ensuring the coolest air intake charge possible. A clear sight window allows for filter inspection without removal of the airbox. The housing is designed to retain the same stock mounting points as the OE intake system for a hassle-free installation.

Premium Hardware:

Premium stainless-steel T-bolt clamps provide the best corrosion resistance possible. Momentum HD intakes are designed with fewer parts for a quick and simple installation.

Flow Optimized Intake Tube:

This intake system includes a CAD-designed dyno-tuned intake tube created to optimize the airflow for maximum power gains.

  • Do I Want An Oiled Or Dry Cold Air Intake System?

    Eric Schumann | 5/16/2019

When you think about cold air intakes, there are two main components to consider. First is air filtration. When comparing oiled filters to dry filters the oiled will always filter out more particulate than the dry filter will. The added oil allows the cotton fibers in the filter element to trap more particulate matter as the air passes through it. The downfall is that in dusty environments the oil filters tend to get dirty quicker than the dry filter will.

The second component to consider on a cold air intake is performance, or how much air flow it allows. From the tests that we have seen, there is no difference in air flow between an oiled filter or a dry filter, if they are both clean. However, as we stated before the oiled filter will catch more particulate and become dirty quicker than the dry filter will. As a filter becomes dirtier, its performance decreases due to excess particulate matter restricting the air flow. Therefore, a dry filter will provide more performance over a longer period of time than an oiled filter will.

For daily driven trucks we recommend oiled filters, unless the truck is driven in an extremely dusty environment. We feel that the extra filtration power added by the oil is worth sacrificing the 1 or 2 extra horsepower you might get from using a dry filter.
