The ATS Co-Pilot Lockup controller provides control over converter lockup in your truck. Factory computers are programmed to disengage lockup under many conditions that often inhibit the performance of the transmission. Push button control allows the driver to select the speed at which the converter clutch will engage and disengage. With the power off the Commander reverts to factory control. Minimum speed for lockup is approximately 18mph. This means that the engine will not be killed by forgetting to unlock the converter clutch when coming to a stop. The Commander offers better acceleration and cooler running, as well as giving the user braking or hold back (even without an exhaust brake). If an exhaust brake is in place, the Commander has the ability to automatically control the brake and converter clutch.

  • Control over converter lockup
  • Push button control
  • 18 mph minimum lockup speed
  • Better Acceleration
  • Automatic control exhaust brake

Reviews

  • When swapping a 47RE into an 89 1st gen 12valve Cummins will do I need this lock up converter? If so will it just bolt in or what would I have to do to make it work? Thanks Greg

  • Is this compatible with quadzilla with respect to the map sensor

    Steve | 1/18/2022

    Yes

  • Does this completly bypass the computer? Im having issues with my tcm controlling the lockup. Would this bypass the tcm and control the lockup?

    Steven F Yax | 3/4/2021

Yes, BD PressureLoc will allow the transmission to produce 250-300psi, substantially increasing clutch holding power which prevents clutch slippage and premature clutch failure.

  • I’m having issues with my transmission it acts like it don’t know what gear it is in until I turn off the truck restart it then it locks up at takes off drives fine for about 10 minutes then starts hunting or not locking up and acts as if in neutral unfortunately it’s not throwing any codes so I’m having a hard time trying to diagnose this issue myself it’s a 1999 2500 with 5.9 Cummins 24 valve I’m not sure if it needs upgraded solinoid and valve body or just something to give me full control

Not sure this item will solve your issues. you may have deeper issue.

  • After 10min drive overdrive won't kick in dodge Cummins 2500

    Avery | 11/8/2020

the co-pilot may help out. if the transmission does not serious mechanical issues.

  • Co-polit how does it work and how do I use it do I only use it when towing?

    Kale | 7/22/2023

The ATS CoPilot provide you the ultimate in push-button control over when the torque converter locks up in your vehicle, allowing you to select the vehicle speed where the torque converter clutch will engage (lock up) and disengage. Your truck's factory programming doesn't initiate lock up until cruising speed and disengages lock up early under many conditions, inhibiting your truck's performance. The Commander and Co-Pilot resolve this issue by holding lock up offering better acceleration and cooler transmission running temperatures.

  • Will it work with out a ecm? Thanks

    Billy | 10/30/2022

    No

  • I recently bought an ats stage 3 from you folks for my 01 dodge 3500. I’ve hooked up the copilot and doesn’t seam to do anything other than my converter won’t lock up at all. And when I shut the controller off I lose my speedometer. I’ve double checked all my connections and I don’t run any other programmer. Computer has never been touched. I’ve owned this truck since it was new. Any suggestions would be great.
