One of the most frequent issues associated with these trucks is that of a dead pedal, or random surging stemming from a problematic throttle position sensor (accelerator pedal position sensor). A "dead pedal" as well as diagnostic trouble codes are common symptoms of a faulty sensor. This sensor is a direct replacement APPS for the 1998.5-2004 trucks where the APPS. This sensor is designed for applications where the APPS is mounted under the intake horn on the driver side of the engine. Fits both automatic and manual transmissions.

Note: Installation of this sensor REQUIRES a ScanTool or DVOM for proper adjustment, this is not a simple "Plug-n-Play" swap. If you do not have these tools, or you do not know how to properly install this sensor, we highly recommend having the installation performed by a qualified mechanic or use our installation video to help you install it yourself.

We have found a significant number of Dodge trucks experiencing pedal related symptoms that were actually caused by other electrical problems in the vehicle. In our experience, improper or weak batteries, corroded or undersized battery cables or electrical interference from other sources can create pedal related symptoms.
