Variable Geometry Turbos are a complicated animal, especially in comparison to their simpler predecessors. Nonetheless, they are necessary in today's diesel environment in order to create harmony between reduced emissions and higher power levels. While complete turbo failures can occur, in many instances, you can repair the existing turbo to alleviate the issue. One of the most common failures is that of the vane actuator.
