Carli Suspension's CS-DBCA-10 High Clearance Extended Control Arm Kit for the Dodge Ram 2500 are designed for models lifted 3 inches in the front to re-center the front axle while maximizing tire clearance.
The 1994-2013 Ram 2500/3500 features a 5-Link front suspension with upper and lower control arms that stabilize the axle's fore/aft position, while the track bar reduces lateral movement. Raising the front end of a straight axle truck pushes the axle away from the frame at ride height. However, this can lead to an off-center front axle unless the appropriate linkages are addressed. Carli designed systems provide 2.5"-3" of front lift. A 3-inch lift shifts the axle 3/4 inch toward the driver’s side and 1/2 inch back toward the cab. While factory control arms and track bars work, Carli recommends an adjustable track bar for improved axle positioning and extended control arms for better axle centering.
Carli Suspension precision-machine these arms from 6061 Billet blocks, ensuring tire clearance, strength, and a sleek design. Their unique feature is the focus on joint quality. In a market dominated by hat-bushing arms, their spherical bearing arms excel. The Ram's non-linear axle movement challenges standard 3-piece hat bushings, especially with lateral shifts from the track-bar design. Carli's solution is a spherical joint design that accommodates vertical, fore/aft, and lateral movement. The core is our in-house machined 17-4 Stainless ball center, with proprietary bushings and joint washers, secured with a snap-ring and a zerk fitting for easy maintenance. They machined ball centers from 17-4 Stainless bar-stock for strength and resistance. These stood up to stresses that caused fractures in Currie joints under Ram's torque specs. Also increased mating surface size for better contact with control arm frame and axle mounts, surpassing Currie joints by 0.050". Partnering with Energy Suspension, they developed innovative RED bushings with grease channels for easy lubrication and improved joint articulation, distinguishing them from older interlocked designs.
