Are you concerned about the possibility your CP4.2 could fail and damage your injectors as well as contaminate the rest of your high pressure system? Our System Saver LML Inlet Metering valve (also called FCA and MPROP) offers an affordable option to help protect your high dollar fuel system components.

Starting with a new inlet metering valve from Bosch we replace the factory single layer 85 micron inlet screen that is molded in a plastic frame with one of our own design. The Exergy screen is mounted on a stainless steel frame that will not fail when the screen fills with debris and becomes a restriction. It also has two layers of 10 micron screen.  Not only is the screen over eight times finer than the factory screen, but the addition of another layer further increases protection from debris.

Based on a number of injector sets we have tested from systems with a failed CP4.2 pump with a System Saver installed it appears that injector survivability is increased more than 85% when compared to CP4.2 failures with the factory screen.

Should the pump actually fail we recommend replacing the pump, and not replacing the injectors unless there are injector related symptoms present after the install.

The System Saver Inlet Metering Valve is also a wise upgrade should the valve need to be replaced to address traditional metering valve failure modes such as idle surge and excessive rail pressure fluctuations.

This part can be used as a direct replacement for Bosch part number 0 928 400 779 and 0 928 400 757, GM part number 12641035, and ACDelco Part number 12641035.

Note: that a valve cannot be returned after it has been installed.

Exergy Fuel System Saver Features:

  • 2 layer, double-wrapped, the stainless screen
  • Improved design to capture debris up to 25 microns
  • Design will not tear or delaminate
  • Quality materials

It is located on the Cp4 injection pump. Which is located in the valley of the engine.

  • Where does this install exactly? Thanks
