Our stage 5 triple disc billet converters are designed for those who have heavily modified engines or for those that tow heavy weights. The showpiece of our converters is our PATENTED torque converter stator sprag retainer. This technology cannot be purchased anywhere else! Unlike most of our competition, we have redesigned the lockup clutch piston to be able to accommodate a piston damper. Our billet piston and damper allows the clutch to apply smoother which in turns puts far less strain on the input shaft. Most of our customers say that our triple disc converter is nearly as smooth as their original stock single disc.

The Allison 1000 converter is a very robust unit to work with, however it does have a major weak point. This weak point is the stator and its weakness becomes an issue when doing extended brake stalls or burnouts. The factory aluminum cast stator is extremely thin and the casting is very porous. When brake stalling or doing a burnout, converter temperatures can easily exceed 700 degrees. This high temperature causes the aluminum to become soft and eventually the aluminum deforms and simply breaks. When it breaks, it causes the impeller and turbine to contact one another and complete destruction of the converter occurs. For this reason if you plan on doing boosted launches or burnouts, we HIGHLY suggest upgrading the stator in your new converter to a billet version. Stator failures are not covered under warranty unless a billet stator is purchased!
